The ideal candidate should have experience troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance, and responding promptly to repair requests as instructed by the Regional Facilities Manager.

General scope of work:

  • Routine inspections/walkthroughs of the locations to identify and resolve issues.

  • Perform general repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.

  • Repair and install fixtures, fittings, furniture, appliances, and equipment as needed.

  • Painting, plastering, and drywall patching are performed to maintain facility appearance.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, troubleshoot problems and provide effective solutions.

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to scheduled timelines to minimise downtime.

  • Schedule after-hours maintenance to avoid disrupting clients.

  • Perform weekly checks on UPS / Generator and backup power for all locations.

  • Assemble furniture and office equipment; hang shelves, frames, and signage as required.

  • Manage the tools and supplies inventory and ensure proper storage and maintenance of equipment.

  • Connect with the Facilities Manager to coordinate external contractors for larger or specialised work to be done.

  • Keep detailed maintenance logs and report issues to the Facilities Manager.

  • Monitor the costs for garden supplies and maintenance costs, and ensure efficient use of resources.

  • Assist with other office maintenance tasks as needed, such as providing support during office events or functions.

 

Ideal Qualifications/Experience

The ideal candidate should be proactive, solutions-driven, and take ownership of their work. Having a positive attitude and the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment is important in this role.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or handyman.

  • An understanding of basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

  • Competence in using hand tools and power equipment.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.

  • Good communication and organisational skills.

  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.

  • Flexible availability for occasional after-hours or weekend maintenance work.

  • Valid driver’s license (advantageous).
