Job brief

The Director of People and Culture manages various aspects of people, culture, and human resources.

1. Cultural leadership: supporting and enhancing the organization’s culture to reflect its values and mission by fostering an inclusive work environment.

2. HR strategy and planning: Develop and execute HR strategies that support the overall business strategy.

3. Employee engagement and well-being: implement initiatives to create a work environment that supports employees’ physical and mental wellbeing.

4. Organizational design: Evaluate company structure and design to achieve business goals through workforce planning and talent management strategies.

5. Legal compliance and risk management: Ensuring that HR practices comply with labour laws and regulations. Manage HR-related risks and legal matters to protect the organization.

6. Employee relations: Promote open and effective communication between employees at all levels of the organisation.

7. Diversity, equity, and inclusion: Enforce policies that enhance diversity, prevent discrimination, and promote equal opportunities for all employees.

8. Learning and development: Oversee learning and development programs that enhance employee skills, career growth, and leadership development.

9. Data and analytics: Review HR metrics and analytics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs and make data-driven recommendations to improve HR processes.

10. Software and Systems: As a knowledge based organisation use software to help manage the HR process as well as build an employee base that use software and systems to maximise their use of time and effectiveness.

The right person


Competences and qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years HR experience at a senior level.

  • Experienced in developing, implementing and embedding people‐focused strategies to deliver organisational goals, including recruitment, retention, staff development, performance management, and employee relations.

  • Experience in using software to assist the entire HR process from recruitment to KPI management and reporting.

  • Experience with staff engagement, talent management, organisational

    change and staff culture as well as change and development.

  • Relevant knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.

  • Significant experience in driving a performance culture and developing in high performing teams and employees at all levels of the organisation

  • Demonstrates understanding of and experience with confidentiality, including how to handle sensitive and personal information and experiences. Proven capability of operating as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior executive team.

  • Superb communication skills - written and verbal.

  • Ability to build rapport quickly with people at all levels of the organisation.

  • Confidence in directing all HR activities and advising managers on all aspects of people management and development.
